The elevated section of the famous Westway links West to Central London. Above, the cityscape opens to reveal high-rise developments towering over hazardous junkyards, train lines, rooftop bus stations, storage yards and acres of unfinished redevelopments. Beneath are grimy corners and dumping grounds, protest graffiti, caravans and unfortunate souls living on the street in plain sight. Tracing a route more often only glimpsed at speed from a fast-moving car, these images bring together these two levels of life in the shadow of Grenfell Tower.

Andrew Meredith is an award-winning interior, architecture and portrait photographer based in London who graduated in Photography at Falmouth College of Arts with Honours and his editorial and personal projects have also gained his photography high-profile recognition from industry press. He was awarded “Best in Book” in Creative Review's Photography Annual for his Slaughtermen abattoir documentary series. Andrew is currently working on several personal projects including Neon Garden, a photo-documentary project exploring a 1000-year-old public garden in the middle of Shanghai.
