’Forest Dens’. The den fields in Alice Holt are transitional spaces made, destroyed and remade by forest visiting families. According to Forest Research, people across all age groups are spending more time in the woodland, realising the physical and mental health benefits of leisure time in nature. The dens they leave behind are traces of this increased human interaction with woodland and are symbolic of the importance of our forests now and for our future.
