The countryside around London is protected from development but that doesn’t mean it’s left free. Carved up into pockets of private land, it’s tightly controlled and managed, as are the people who visit it. This project conveys the land as an object, and in doing so attempts to subvert the tradition of land ownership and champion the right to roam. Taken as if by a pastoral flaneur, these images are directed via signs and objects which show the consequences threatened for making a wrong turn.

Henry Woide is a London based photographer documenting the British built environment. His work focuses on contemporary issues surrounding the constructed landscape.  He is studying on the MA at Falmouth University and co-founded Mass in 2019 to create a collective of photographers with a shared interest in creating a photographic work that observed, explored and challenged the built environment. His photographic project No Moor received an Honourable Mention at the International Photography Awards 2020 and exhibited it at the London Festival of Architecture.
